Browser plugins have complete access to the underlying OS so can do pretty much anything a normal app can do… so the fact that it’s in-browser isn’t really that impressive. It’s just a standard Windows app but displayed through a ‘hole’ in a browser.
More impressive would be if it was using already established / widely installed / cross platform web tech such as Flash, Java etc. The web doesn’t need a whole raft more proprietary plugins.
